Music in Haiti is based on religion and practiced by all ages.

In Haiti, tens of thousands live in dangerously damaged buildings. Countless others have been
evicted from camps and yards. Recontruction is still taking place to repair the damage that was done from the earthquake several year ago.  

In Haiti, soccer and trachand feild are thier most  popular sports. Gambaling is also considered a sport and is played to pass time.

Haitian cusine is in fluenced by many other countries such as Africa,Spain, and France. All of these places combined contibute to the spices that are used in the Haitian food showed below.

The people of Haiti dress in an Ameriacn style. This is because clothes were imported  to Haiti from United States. Clothes were imported beacuse Haiti is the poorest country in the western Hemisphere.     

The artifacts found on both countries are very similar. One similarity is that the popular culture of music is very important in both countries. The music found in both countries are reflections of beliefs and thier personal lifesyles. Unlike the US , most of Haitis music is insprired and influenced by the religion of voodoo and the traditional ceremonies. Alot like the US, Hatian food is based off of many combinations of from other countries. We are all from the "melting pot" but our food is very different. A difference in the popular culture artifacts is entertainment. As meantioned before, in Haiti, people paint as entertainment. While in the US, we watch movies, shop, and communicate on social networks. This is a major difference simply because the US is a MDC and Haiti is a LDC.  

A problem that has arose due to popular culture is the fear of extintion of folk culture. Many say that globalization of popular culture is the blame. The rapid spread of popular culture is created by media. Folk culture, is the oppisite. it is spread through migration which is a very slow process. By globalization if the pop. culture, the folk culture is is slowly diminishing and losing thier traditional ways. Many also think this controversy isnt such a problem. This fear is also seen in a way that paves a way to "better life" for the one who live in the traditional folk culture. An example that fits the description of better life would be the social mobility and freedom of the people in folk culture that have been experienced to the diffusion of media in popular culture. Personally, I think that this fear of extinction is going to take over the folk culture beacuse of rapid globaliztion.     

The effect of popular cuture of the United States on the popular culture of Haiti is news. Through mass media, technology, and globalization. The news and mass media made the US and other countires aware of the tragedy that happened in Hiati in 2009. Because of popular diffusion, globalization, and communication, Haiti was and is now able to get help. An example of this would be the importing of clothes from the US in order to provideGlobalization is the main reason popular culture is spread throughout the world which has the ability to allow countires to communicate with one another.
